Washer Repair — Book a Visit Today

Washers work hard in island homes. Beach towels, red dirt, sandy rash guards, load after load. What gives out? Drain pumps clogged with sand and hair. Door seals that grow mildew in humid laundry rooms. Lid switches, shocks, bearings, and control boards pitted by salt air. Belts that squeal on spin. When we come out, we run the machine, listen through the cycle, check the pump and hoses, and read any error the board is holding. Then we tell you plainly what part it needs and how the supply looks, since some parts ship in from the mainland and take a few days. Call us and describe the noise or the puddle. We'll take it from there.

Washer Repair — residential washer being serviced

The washer symptoms we hear most

  • There's water all over the floor Split hose, worn door boot, cracked tub seal, or a loose drain connection
  • It won't spin, so clothes come out soaked Drain pump blockage, failed lid switch or door lock, or a stretched belt
  • The whole machine walks across the room Worn suspension rods or shocks, unlevel feet, or a bad tub bearing
  • Smells like mildew even after a wash Biofilm in the gasket and dispenser, plus a slow-draining pump filter
  • Buttons light up but nothing happens Control board, wiring, water inlet valve, or a stuck cycle sensor

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Look behind the machine and make sure both fill hoses are snug and the drain hose hasn't slipped out of the standpipe.
  • 2Open the door and wipe inside the rubber gasket, checking for coins, sand, or a stray sock wedged in the fold.
  • 3Press down on each corner to see if the washer rocks, then adjust the leveling feet until it sits solid.
  • 4Reset the machine by unplugging it for a minute, then start a short cycle and note any error code that shows up.

Washer Repair — quick answers

Do you work on front-load and top-load washers?

Both, and stacked units and compact apartment machines too. We're independent, so we service all major brands. Tell us the type and roughly how old it is when you call us, and we'll bring the likely parts along.

Why does my laundry room smell musty?

Humidity plus trapped water. Front-loaders hold moisture in the door gasket and detergent drawer. If the pump filter is partly clogged, water sits and turns sour. We clean the path, check drainage, and show you how to air it out between loads.

How long does a repair usually take?

Many visits wrap up in one trip when the failed part is a common one like a pump, valve, or lid switch. Control boards and some drum components ship in from the mainland, so those can add a few days of waiting.

Is salt air really hard on a washer?

It is, especially near the water. Salt-laden humidity corrodes terminals, hinges, screws, and the metal cabinet edges. We clean and treat connections while we're inside and point out spots that are rusting so you can keep an eye on them.

My washer shakes hard. Can that damage anything?

Yes. Constant violent shaking wears out suspension parts, loosens hoses, and can crack the outer tub over time. Stop using it for heavy loads and call us. Sometimes it's just leveling; sometimes shocks or a bearing need replacing.

Should I repair or replace an older washer?

Depends on the failure. A pump, valve, switch, or belt is usually worth fixing on a machine that otherwise runs well. If the bearing and the drum are both gone on a very old unit, we'll say so honestly and let you decide.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the sound

Call us or fill in the form. Describe what you hear, smell, or see. Puddle under the washer? Clicking from the fridge? Small details help us load the right parts before we drive out.

  2. Step 2

    We look it over

Our tech opens the machine and tests the real cause, not the guess. Salt-eaten terminals and humid control boards hide well. You hear exactly what failed and which repair options make sense.

  3. Step 3

    Fixed or scheduled

Many repairs finish the same visit from parts on the van. When something must ship in from the mainland, we tell you straight, order it, and keep you posted until it lands.

Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.

  • 1Ask for their license numberThen verify it with your state licensing board rather than taking it on trust.
  • 2Ask for proof of insuranceLiability cover protects you if something goes wrong in your home.
  • 3Get the quote in writingIncluding the trip fee, whether it's credited against the repair, and parts.
  • 4Ask how they handle callbacksIf the same fault returns, what happens? Get the answer before work begins.
  • 5Check their own reviewsLook the business up independently — their Google profile, not just what they tell you.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for salt airCoastal homes chew through appliances. We check for corroded connectors, rusted brackets, and moisture in control boards, because a fixed symptom means little if the salt keeps eating the same part next season.
  • Humidity knows-howDamp trade wind air makes dryers work harder and vents clog faster. We clear airflow paths, test moisture sensors, and explain small habits that keep your laundry room from fighting the weather.
  • Straight talk on partsShipping across the Pacific takes time. We say so up front instead of vanishing. You get realistic timing, a clear plan while you wait, and honest advice when a machine is not worth the wait.
  • Independent and localWe are an independent repair company working on all major brands. No sales pitch for a new unit. Neighbors talking to neighbors, in plain words, about the machine in your kitchen right now.
  • All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more — as an independent repair company.
  • Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so — often on the phone.
